General information
1st International Conference/Workshop
Genomic Impact of Eukaryotic Transposable Elements
March 31-April 4, 2006The Asilomar Conference Center, Pacific Grove, CA, USA
This international conference is set in the Asilomar Conference Grounds on the southern end of Monterey Bay, CA.
The recent explosion of genomic sequencing has produced an unprecedented wealth of sequence information on transposable elements (TEs) in the context of different eukaryotic genomes. The goal of this conference and the workshop is to explore new ways to organize and study this information with emphasis on the impact of TEs on genomic structure and evolution.
The conference will include floor presentations by the invited speakers. The parallel workshop will provide an opportunity for hands-on experience for a limited number of participants interested in Repbase and related computer tools for analysis of TEs. There will also be an opportunity for poster presentations.
If you have any questions about the conference, please send an email to conference@girinst.org or call us at (650) 961-4480.
