Abstract: The 2723 bp unit is composed of at least two distantly related sequences. This sequence was derived from sequence data generated by Broad Institute Mammalian Genome Project: Elephant. We thank the Broad Institute Genome Sequencing Platform and Genome Sequencing and Analysis Program, Federica Di Palma, and Kerstin Lindblad-Toh for making the data for Loxodonta africana available.
