Abstract: RTEX-1_CR belongs to the RTEX clade of non-LTR retrotransposons. The consensus sequence is <1% divergent from several copies of RTEX-1_CR. The 3' terminus is composed of the (CA)n microsatellite. Some RTEX-1_CR elements are flanked by ~10-bp TSDs.
