Abstract: Ingi-1_AAl is a consensus sequence of a young family of non-LTR retrotransposons that belong to the Ingi clade from the I group (based on the RT domain phylogeny). This family of Ingi retrotransposons was identified previously as I-1_AAl [1] (see comments in Ingi-1_BF and Ingi-2_BF), but the sequence was not reported. Genomic copies of Ingi-1_AAl elements are ~98% identical to their consensus sequence.
