Abstract: The Ambal-3_FCy consensus sequence was derived from 4 copies >99% identical to each other. Ambal-3_FCy is characterized by long 20-bp TSDs (also confirmed by one Ambal-3_FCy element inserted into a Copia-2-LTR_FCy sequence). We expect that this family is currently transposable. The consensus sequence was derived from sequence data produced by the US Department of Energy Joint Genome Institute http://www.jgi.doe.gov/ in collaboration with the user community.
