Abstract: This family, together with L2B-1_CP and CR1-1_AG from the mosquito genomes, belongs to a novel L2B clade of non-LTR retrotransposons. This clade appears as a sister clade of the L2A, L2, Daphne and Crack clades. The L2B-1HM consensus sequence was derived from multiple alignment of several copies of L2B-1_HM, which are ~96% identical to each other.
