Abstract: Gypsy82-I_DR is an internal portion of the Gypsy82_DR LTR retrotransposon that belongs to the Gypsy superfamily. Its long terminal repeat is deposited in Repbase as Gypsy82-LTR_DR. Gypsy82_DR is characterized by 4-bp target site duplications. The internal portion encodes two proteins: the 415-aa gag Gypsy82_DR1p (pos.121-1365) and 1400-aa polyprotein (pos. 1335-5534, conceptual translation)composed of the protease, reverse transcriptase, and integrase domains. Some insertions fairly recent, according to the hight identity between their flanking LTRs. Consensus obtained after the alignment of at least five independent insertions bearing at least 85% homology over at least 1000bp.
