Abstract: Harbinger-1N1_VV (mPifvine-1.1 in [1]) is a non-autonomous DNA transposon which is a deletion derivate of the autonomous Harbinger-1_VV. Individual copies are >90% identical to the consensus sequence. TIRs are 20 bp-long (with 1 conserved mismatch) and flanked by 3 bp-long TSDs. There are approximately 50 highly conserved copies present in the genome which could place this family in the group of MITEs.
