Abstract: Cre-1_HM is a family of non-LTR retrotransposons that belong to the CRE clade. The hydra genome contains >10 copies of Cre-1_HM that are ~97% identical to the consensus sequence. The hydra genome contains several families of Cre non-LTR retrotransposons.
