Abstract: subfamily10,35,36,37 19% partial gag (1-729), full pol ORF (725-3700). The pol is very close to that of chicken CR1-Y (82% at DNA level), the gag is closest to that of PSLINE in a turtle genome and CR1-E (bit no better than ca 65% at DNA level). The recombination in either the chicken or finch lineage ( or both) took place close before pos 889 (high similarity only after 889), so somewhat in the ORF2 region. The junction is confirmed by multiple copies not to be an artifact.
