Abstract: Chapaev3-2_HM belongs to the Chapaev3 group of the Chapaev superfamily of DNA transposons (see comments on Chapaev3-2_PM). Chapaev3-2_HM is a very young family of lamprey Chapaev3 transposons: genomic copies of Chapae3-2_HM elements are ~99% identical to their consensus sequence, which was derived from multiple alignment of 13 Chapaev3-2_HM elements. Chapaev3-2_HM contains 13-bp terminal inverted repeats and encodes a 559-aa transposase.
