Abstract: Chapaev3-2_AA belongs to the Chapaev3 group of the Chapaev superfamily of DNA transposons (see comments on Chapaev3-1_PM). Chapaev3-2_AA is a very young family of mosquito Chapaev3 transposons: genomic copies of Chapae3-2_AA elements are ~99.4% identical to their consensus sequence, which was derived from multiple alignment of 16 Chapaev3-2_AA elements. Chapaev3-2_AA contains imperfect 520-bp terminal inverted repeats and encodes a 551-aa transposase (3 exons).
