Title: RTE0_ME: The oldest known RTE-like family in marsupials. |

Abstract: This is probably the oldest RTE family in marsupials. RTE0_ME consensus is ~72% identical to individual repeats, and the preserved copies make ~1% of the wallaby genome. Remnants of reconstructed ORFs significantly match other RTE-like elements.
