Title: Harbinger-2_XT, a family of autonomous Harbinger DNA transposons from frog. |

|||
Abstract: It encodes the 377-aa Harbinger-2_XT1p transposase and 327-aa Harbinger-2_XT2p myb-like DNA binding protein. This transposon is characterized by the TWA target-site duplications. It harbors copies of several other transposons, which are masked by Ns: CR1-L2-1_XT (pos. 482-644), hAT-N1_XT (pos. 2665-2970), and XBR_XT (at pos. 10871-11335). While the first two seem to be normal TEs inserted into an ancestral sequence of Harbinger-2_XT, XBR_XT element belongs to a very old family of TEs.
