Abstract: L1-1_XT is a young family of non-LTR retrotransposons that belong to the L1 clade. Some copies are less than 1% divergent from the consensus sequences. The consensus sequence is incomplete at its 5' terminus. L1-1_XT encodes two proteins similar to corresponding proteins in the human anf fish L1s.
