Abstract: Internal portion of a gypsy-type endogeneous retrovirus from rice. Corresponding 653 bp LTR is deposited as GYPSY1-LTR_OS. There are 24 full-length copies in the rice genome with similarities between 92% and 97.5% to the consensus (average 95%). The sequence is most similar to the ATLANTYS superfamily (65% similar at the protein level). 5 bp TSDs.
