Title:
MAR1_MD, a tRNA-derived, L1-mobilized SINE from the opossum M. domestica.

Abstract:
Similar over 132 bp to SINE-1_MD, but appears to be L1-mobilized. The presence of a poly-A tail, and 15-16 bp TSDs suggests that L1 is the autonomous element. MAR1_MD has been highly prolific, with over 500,000 copies in the current genome assembly. This consensus was reconstructed from the June 2005 release of the 6.8X WGS sequence.
