Abstract: BEL19_AG is a young family of Bel/Pao-like LTR retrotransposons. BEL19-I_AG, an internal portion of BEL19_AG is flanked by BEL19-LTR_AG LTRs. The A. gambiae genome harbors several copies of BEL19; they are less than 5% divergent from each other.
