Title: LOOPERN6_DR, a nonautonomous piggyBac-like DNA transposon from zebrafish. |
|||
Journal: Repbase Reports 2:(6) p. 21 (2002) |

Abstract: Several hundred copies of LOOPERN6_DR are expected to populate the zebrafish genome. LOOPERN6_DR copies are ~15% divergent from the consensus sequence. It is characterized by imperfect 15-bp terminal inverted repeats and the TTAA targets site duplications. Presumably, this old elements is a member of the piggyBac/Looper superfamily. It could be a composite DNA transposon that was dependent on the piggyBac-like transposase. It has long ~400-bp inverted repeats (positions 156-551 and 870-1276)
