Abstract: ATCOPIA50_I is an internal region of the ATCOPIA50 copia-like endogenous retrovirus flanked by 3% divergent ATCOPIA50LTR LTRs and a 5-bp target site duplication. ATCOPIA50_I encodes well preserved remnants of the ATCOPIA50p copia-like polyprotein.
